Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how noux ("noux", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the noux app and websites, including noux.media and nouxlabs.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

1. Who we are

noux is a curated media and content discovery service, operated together with noux labs, our web and app development studio. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at hello@noux.media.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your chosen @handle, a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), and the gender option you select. Providing an email address is optional and used for verification, password recovery and service notices.

Preferences. The topics and categories you select, your theme choice, and settings you change in the app.

Activity and engagement data. Which posts are shown to you, which you view, how long you spend on them, and actions such as likes, saves, pins, shares, deep-dive opens, quiz answers and opinion responses. We use this to personalise your feed and to avoid showing you the same content twice.

Booking and enquiry data. If you book a call or send an enquiry through noux labs, we collect the name, email, phone number, message and appointment details you submit.

Technical data. Device and browser type, approximate location inferred from your IP address (country level), time zone, language, and log data such as request timestamps and error reports. This is used for security, diagnostics and broad regional relevance.

We do not knowingly collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, payment card details, or special-category data such as health, biometric, religious or political information.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, secure and improve the Service.
  • To personalise your feed, including inferring which subjects you are interested in from your engagement signals.
  • To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
  • To send transactional messages: email verification, password resets, appointment confirmations and reminders, and important service notices.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • To measure aggregate usage, debug problems, prevent abuse, spam and fraud, and enforce our terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.

Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, improvement, personalisation of a feed-based product), your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Automated personalisation

Your feed is ranked automatically using the topics you select and the engagement signals described above. This ranking decides the order and mix of content you see. It does not produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and no human profiling decisions are made about you outside the Service. You can view what the Service has inferred about your interests, and adjust your selected topics at any time, in your profile.

5. Content on the Service

Content in the feed is curated or generated editorially by noux and may include material produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence. It is provided for general information and entertainment only, is not professional, legal, medical or financial advice, and may contain errors or omissions. Opposing-perspective posts present a point of view for context and do not necessarily reflect our own views. The Service does not host user-generated posts or comments.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Any sponsored cards in the feed are our own or our clients' promotions and are not powered by third-party ad-tracking networks.

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — including Supabase (database, authentication and storage), Cloudflare and Lovable (hosting and delivery), Resend (email delivery), and AI model providers used to draft content.
  • Authorities or third parties where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process or a government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of noux, our users or the public.
  • A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

7. International transfers

We operate globally and our providers may store or process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

8. Data retention

We keep account, preference and engagement data for as long as your account is active, because the Service needs it to remember what you have already seen. Booking and enquiry records are kept for as long as needed for the engagement and for our legitimate business and legal purposes. Logs and diagnostic data are kept for a short period. When you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain it for legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level database access rules and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Your choices and rights

You can update your handle, email, password and topics, and see what the Service has inferred about your interests, from your profile. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from the bottom of your profile — this action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to receive a portable copy, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To make a request, email hello@noux.media. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage and cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, remember your theme and preferences, and keep your place in the feed. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing this storage will sign you out.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-party links

The Service may link to external websites, including sources and client work. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; please read their own policies.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice in the app or by email where appropriate. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.

15. Contact

Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: email hello@noux.media.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, and noux is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its content.
